Working from home has given office occupiers the opportunity to realise the importance and effects of wellness in the workplace and, for many, highlighted the lack of focus on wellness in the office.

As wellness is multidimensional and there are a variety of approaches that can be implemented, it is difficult to know where to start to improve wellness in the workplace to get you office to appeal to occupiers. Some have experiences and communities enhanced and developed through apps, others provide healthy snacks and refreshments and some are providing opportunities to improve occupiers working environments through the introduction of biophilia and break out areas, but the list of what you can do doesn’t stop there. One thing is for sure though, wellness is having a positive effect on occupiers.

This month we asked our Property Management Administrator, who joined TSP earlier this year, what the appeal to our office was as a workplace with wellness at the forefront. Was it the delicious healthy snacks and refreshments, team events, the biophilia, access to our tenant experience app or maybe the pooch attendance? And how have the office wellbeing offerings assisted in her return to the office?

Anna Efah, Property Management Administrator

1. How are you finding being back in the office?

It is good to be back in the office and be around the team in arms reach. Interaction over a camera is never the same as in person.

2. What are the perks of being back?

The sociable environment, the office snacks and the excuse to get out during the day and get some fresh air.

3. What are your favourite wellness offerings in the office?

Snacks, socials and allowing pets in the office.

4. How do these affect your experience in the office?

It makes it an easy going working environment. Although the work can be strenuous, you are not restricted in the office, there is fruit and snacks available and when you need a breather you can take some time out and play with one of the team’s pet pooches.

5. Have the workplace offerings assisted your return to the office?

Yes they have. They provide a comfortable environment for us to work in and made the transition back to in-office life much more positive.

6. Do you think all offices should consider a wellness offering for their employees?

Yes! It should be mandatory, mental health awareness is extremely important.
